When Everything Feels Heavy… What the Gym Taught me About Business, Life & Asking for Help
The other day, I showed up at the gym expecting a good session: some movement, some sweat, a little endorphin boost. But from the moment I stepped onto the mat, everything felt heavy.
The deadlifts were half the weight I’d usually lift… and still felt like a struggle.
Back squats? Uncomfortable. The barbell was digging into my shoulders.
Even the warm-up rounds took more effort than usual.
At first, I felt frustrated - like I was going backwards. But then something clicked:
Some days, things just feel heavier.
And it doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.
The truth about hard days
Whether it’s in the gym, your business, your relationships, or your nervous system — there will be days that feel sticky, slow or downright hard. Days where showing up takes everything you’ve got.
The key isn’t to push harder or override the heaviness. It’s to recognise it, honour it and remind yourself:
This will pass.
Because it always does.
Energy ebbs and flows.
Motivation dips and rises.
Some days you’re lifting double your usual weight, other days, just making it out of bed is the win.
The somatic lesson hiding in the struggle
As a somatic coach, I help people tune into their bodies and reconnect with the wisdom they hold. And this moment at the gym was one of those sneaky somatic teachings in real life:
Your body knows when you need to pause.
Your nervous system knows when you’re nearing capacity.
And often, the most powerful thing you can do is simply listen.
This applies in all areas of life, not just your workouts. When business feels heavy… when social media feels overwhelming… when building a community feels like a mountain… it might not be a strategy issue. It might be a signal from your body saying:
“Hey love, you don’t have to do this alone.”
You don’t have to carry it all
If you’re navigating a season that feels sticky or slow — especially around your business, your community or your social media presence — I can help.
I work with founders, creatives, and leaders in two ways:
Somatic Coaching: gentle, body-led support to regulate your nervous system, soften internal pressure, and reconnect with your true pace.
Community Management: I help you build and nurture real, engaged communities. That includes:
Creating & nurturing social spaces like FB groups or pages
Answering customer queries and engaging in DMs or comments
Offering products or service solutions in a natural, human way
Because your business doesn’t have to feel like a solo mission.
And marketing doesn’t have to feel like shouting into the void.
